5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed Firstly, let me start off that I liked helping a local business. Second, the box it came it was a nice touch. If you are not a very good gift giver, consider buying from this company and giving one of their boards to someone. The box, I know it sounds silly, was real nice. Just good presentation. Third, and most importantly, the board itself. I read the provided information card well and am taking steps to follow directions. The board I got was large, and provides a great work surface. I had this in mind for replacing smaller boards I had. It has two sides, a nice touch, and I like that it feels very sturdy. It did not move an inch on my counter as I chopped. Again, maybe order a smaller one if needs be, but I like this heavy sturdy side, and know how to properly dry it, and also some basics in care. I have used this board a lot in about 10 days since I bought it and it looks and feels great.Overall I’d heartily recommend this to fill a need as I had for such a nice cutting board.Variation: Color: Winsome | Maple | Edge Grain
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect size, surface and weight Likes: Packaging: The box is beautiful, sturdy and provides safe storage for the cutting board.Dimensions: The size and weight are sturdy and a perfect fit for the countertop. Accommodates the cutting/chopping/slicing needs of the two people I cook for.Juice groove: Circles the entirety of the board edges. Easy to clean as it is a bit wider than it is deep.Charcuterie groove: Good size. Accommodates enough finger foods for two.Easy to clean: A cotton cloth, dampened in very hot water, easily cleans this board. So far, no need to scrub or be aggressive. After air drying a thin layer of food grace mineral oil is rubbed in.Minor disappointment: This beautiful maple board is edge grain, rather than end grain. End grain might be better for the high grade, thinly bladed, knives used on it. No aggressive chopping will be done on this board. That, however, may be best for any board.Recommend: Highly recommend. This is a solid board. Not so heavy it is difficult to move but heavy enough it stays still on the countertop under use. Very easy to clean without scrubbing. It is a perfect size for the needs of two people.Variation: Color: Winsome | Maple | Edge Grain
5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly beautiful, incredibly sturdy, masterful workmanship This is the first time I have been literally stunned at the quality of a product I purchased thru Amazon.I am an architect with plenty of cabinetry, paneling, and furniture design experience for homes of the very wealthy. The quality of this cutting board at this price is unbelievable.I would say the I was struck speechless when I opened the (also beautifully crafted) box it arrived in, except for the fact that I could not stop repeating “this is gorgeous”. It is also quite thick and much heftier than I expected.Included are easily understood and beautifully printed directions on how to maintain the cutting board.One thing to be sure to pay attention to is the direction to wash, dry and oil the block on both sides after using it. I know from experience that with wood you have to balance moisture content/porosity on both sides of a piece of wood.The only thing I can add is to say WOW !Variation: Color: Winsome | Maple | Edge Grain
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this! We have been using a plastic board for decades and decided to try a wooden one. We have used this for about a month now. First, the board is beautiful and is heavy so it won’t move around on your counter when you are cutting or chopping. We bought the maple and the surface cuts and chops so much faster than plastic and I’m kicking myself for not getting one decades ago.The only minor downside is because it’s so heavy, it isn’t one of these boards you can pick up and hold in one hand while you slide your chopped things into a pot or pan. We just keep a plate or bowl next to the board and use it to move things to the pot.We love it and have always supported local/US businesses. It comes in a beautiful box and would make a great gift to anyone that loves to cook.Variation: Color: Winsome | Maple | Edge Grain
5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just A Cutting Board I ordered and received 3 cutting boards within about 3 days from two different companies. I received the first two from the first company before receiving the Sonder LA board. I was quite happy with the first two boards, but when I got and opened the box from Sonder LA I was blown away. The Sonder LA Winsome board wasn’t just naked in the Amazon box, but was packaged in a well constructed and BEAUTIFUL box, which also had a thin lining for further protection. Just looking at the three different boards you can immediately tell a difference in quality. The Winsome board has a very smooth finish and quietly speaks quality. With the first board I ordered and received what I’d say are very good boards. With the Sonder LA Winsome the pride and care of the manufacturer is tangible- I feel like I just received a board and JOY. Now for the test of time and actually using the boards. 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful in Every Way With a recent kitchen remodel, I now have a SS farmhouse sink I had been searching for an over-the-sink cutting board for several weeks and this is it! The dimensions 17x13x1.5 in are perfect to sit on the inside lip of the sink, not on the countertop. There is adequate space to accommodate a colander under the edge of the board and it does not move while cutting or chopping. It is beautifully finished, so it is eye-candy with a silken feel. It is high value and reasonably priced. I encourage anyone looking for a cutting board to check out this manufacturer, a US homegrown small business.Variation: Color: Winsome | Maple | Edge Grain
