4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, but not chip-proof I was looking for a set of dishes that was affordable, beautiful, and came with pieces I could use, versus the too-small fussy-looking mugs that dish sets often come with. I wanted to be able to afford two sets so I could serve extended family. These fit the bill on all counts. The two shapes of bowls included (a soup bowl and a pasta bowl, I guess I would call them) are convenient.The pattern is modern and nice. It’s a bit larger-scale than I expected, but I don’t think the photos are misleading, I think it was just me somehow. And the scale is perfectly fine. The blue is a nice classy navy, and it matches the inexpensive Japanese-patterned ice cream bowls sold elsewhere on this site, down to the brown rim, which adds a nice finished touch.I have had these dishes for just over a month, and I already have a small chip in one of the plates. That said, I am not the most careful individual. It also seems that pretty dishes are almost never chip-proof. I am going to repair it with a kintsugi kit sold here. I went to like 4 different stores trying to find some reasonably priced dishes for my new place and had no luck, I should have saved the time and gas and came to Amazon first! These dishes are durable, microwave and dishwasher safe (not that I have a dishwasher lol) and they just look gorgeous!
