I wouldn’t be nervous to just toss it in the back of my pickup and forget it. The latches seem heavy duty and I love the old school vibe it puts off.The Bad: not the best summer lunch pail. It is not insulated. In fact it gets hot as hell sitting by the window in the truck. I tried putting a Yeti ice pack in it and it went hot in a couple hours. This is the nature of it, so not too big a deterrent. However, i think i will limit this to winter use.The ugly: It is unfortunate that this isn’t air tight…… There are large gaps on the backside that are prone to let dust in. I’m a midnight shift law enforcement officer and since COVID, we only have 4 options to eat at overnight. I have the good fortune that my office has a break room with a microwave and toaster oven to warm food up.It’s held up well as I place it in the passenger floorboard of my patrol car till dinner time. I bought the 24oz food jar (thermos) so I can take left overs from dinner, like potatoe soup, with me. Otherwise some easy microwave dinners or other leftovers fit nicely in the box. I carry a utensil pouch with spoon, fork, knife, steak knife, salt and pepper, and additional spices for the dinner of the evening.It’s really done what I expected it to.My 70+ year old mother chuckled when she saw it as she said it’s what her father carried to work everyday.Is it perfect for my everyday personal lunch situation? It fits me with the lunchbox, the insulated food jar and the 40oz stanley coffee/ tea/hot chocolate thermos. It is incredibly sturdy and nothing gets ruined and wasted. We have tried a million different cooler/backpack/lunchbox options, and I think we have landed on our winner. With lots of kids and lots of coming and going, stuff gets shoved and dropped and stuffed and stepped on. This lunchbox protects all the foods and therefore also the stroller, car, other bags, etc. Obviously a little more expensive but quality is to match and will save me more than its price in wasted food….this season alone!
