5.0 out of 5 stars Second best purchase I've made this year! My best purchase was a countertop water filtration system from Amazon that has optional remineralization of the filtered water. (Stokk T1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter. I love it.) I keep the pitcher that comes with it filled and in my frig to make sure the water is cold.I have been drinking my electrolytes in canned seltzer water because I like the bubbles and it makes drinking it more enjoyable. Sometimes I would get flavored water, sometimes just plain. I’ve been purchasing the store brand because it contains 12 cans per case and it’s less expensive. Name brands usually have just 8 cans and cost more.Enter SodaStream! Ta Da! It was on sale for Black Friday so I took advantage of it at my sister’s suggestion. My filtered remineralized water is clean and delicious and when carbonated, it makes the cleanest and most delicious sparkling water I have ever tasted. This SodaStream is very easy to use. I unpacked it, read the instructions, registered my unit for warranty, set up the system and made my first liter of fizzy deliciousness in under 30 minutes!Let me tell you how economical my purchase will be. A 12 pack of store brand seltzer water is about 4 liters at a cost of about $4.50. At two cans a day, a 12 pack lasts for 6 days and that comes to about fifteen 12 packs (60 liters) for about $67.50 every 90 days.A cannister of SodaStream CO2 makes approximately 60 liters of bubbly water using the recommend 3 pumps of gas. Right now the cost for a two-pack is $68.99. (I like light carbonation so I do one/two pumps.) The 90 day cost for SodaStream should be about $34.50, if my calculations are correct.And as a bonus, I won’t be filling the landfills with empty cans. (My city doesn’t recycle.) This alone makes me feel good about my purchase.The flavorings are nice but will add to your cost. My electrolytes come in flavored and unflavored varieties so I will usually opt out of adding more flavoring.I really recommend SodaStream. It’s fun, economical and good for our environment!UPDATE: I have been using my SodaStream twice a day since the day I got it and the original CO2 cylinder is still going strong. So far, it’s lasted more than two months. I can’t imagine living without this machine. It helps me keep on track to take my electrolytes on a regular basis. 5.0 out of 5 stars Super easy to use, versatile and a great money saver. We became Lotus fans and wanted carbonated water for that purpose. We were using various brands of canned carbonated water (like Bubly), and purchasing bottles of club soda. This adds up quickly and also had the disadvantage of the unused portion going flat. SodaStream seemed like a good option. It is not difficult to set-up or use and it does not take up much room, so we were able to include it with the rest of our set-up for convenience. Our set came with 3 bottles so we keep them full of cold water in the fridge and carbonate one when we are ready to use it. The lid fits nice and tight so the carbonation is held in for a few days without problems and we rarely have it go flat before it gets used. I appreciate that you can customize your carbonation level – I like four pulls of the lever for extra strong carbonation. We have not used the included flavorings provided with the machine but it has been fun just to make various Lotus drinks, or carbonated flavored water. My favorite lately has been Lotus Limeade Concentrate, a couple pumps of Monin cranberry syrup and the carbonated water – you can skip a trip to Sonic and not feel deprived at all. I am hopeful the CO2 canister lasts a good while and that the exchange system works well. I anticipate we’ll be using this system for a very long time.Variation: Size: Value BundleColor: Black
5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous invention, improved quality of life. Changed my life, I can use filtered water to make soda water on demand, so no discarded soda water bottles. Best is I can customize how frizzy the water is. I make just enough for a sitting. Perfect capacity, I never run out and there is always just enough. It is so versatile: where to use and what to make with it. The setup does not require an outlet and can be used outside. I’m thinking of taking it camping. Now I make juice with soda water so much healthier than sugary drink. The only tricky part is acquiring refilled bottles of CO2 at a reasonable price. Also the store I shop at the most have the soda bottles so darned high I cannot reach them.
