5.0 out of 5 stars Very Attractive It’s my first 18/10 flatware set, and I love them. I cannot offer a comparison review to other flatware sets being that this is my first actual purchase of one, BUT I can definitely comment on my overall satisfaction of them. They exactly as they appear in the Oneida’s listing in Amazon. Very shiny as some reviewers pointed out which concerned me at first, but I just wash them as soon as return my plate to the sink and that has helped in maintaining its luster. For the amount of quality pieces this set brings, it is definitely a steal. I have not seen this price for a 12 service 18/10 set from a reputable brand on Black Fridays, after Christmas specials and sales/clearance deals so I am thrilled to have saved money on a day of no savings. Plus I have purchased the Oneida Pro Series Stainless Steel Set (after purchasing Hamilton Beach Pro Gourmet Stainless Steel Set, which I returned) and it is another great product from Oneida. After purchasing a couple of items from this brand, I am pleased to say I trust this company.Again, this is a wonderful design; it’s complimentary a variety of styles: transitional, contemporary, modern, even traditional if done with European influence. I was expecting them to feel a bit heavy but they’re fine, not light but of modest weight. Maybe the dinner knives were a bit too lengthy for my liking, but together they are gorgeous to look at. They can instantly upgrade your dinnerware and are great choice for a dinner party.If I may, I would also want to offer some advice to dishwasher owners who are skeptical of purchasing such flashy flatware. First, this is solely based on my online research of the ongoing issue with rust marks left on flatware pieces after using the dishwasher. Although I do not own a dishwasher (but plan to soon) it was recommended that if flatware should be clean in appliance, then they must be separated from other metals (place them in the utensil component) and do not place any other metal objects such as pots, pans, etc. inside (plates, glass, plastic is acceptable). According to ‘real’ dishwasher owners, this has helped them maintained the polished appearance (with some towel-drying after wash). The claim is that the nickel material within the flatware reacts to other metal as does copper material during the wash cycle, so the key principle is to keep them separate in that small compartment, especially if your dishwasher is a stainless steel drum. Also, I recommend the Method Smarty Dish Dishwashing Detergent (those detergent capsules) because it has been rated the highest and tested in laboratories to keep everything clean, including dishwasher, since it’s biodegradable.Sorry I am not an expert but I hope you find this review to be helpful.Variation: Style: 65-Piece Flatware Set with Caddy

I put these on my wedding registry after a SIGNIFICANT amount of research trying to find a high quality set that 1) wasn’t ugly 2) wasn’t going to go out of style/had a simple style 3) wasn’t too heavy and 4) no designs for food to get stuck in. One year later I am nothing but pleased with my choice.First off: these have the higher quality composition of metals than most flatware sets on the market, hence the higher price. This helps prevent rust in the long run and generally makes the set last longer.As for the weight, my husband likes heavier flatware that has good substance to it. I, on the other hand, have arthritis in my hands and wanted something easy to use. This set was one of the few we found that had enough weight to it that it didn’t seem cheap, but also wasn’t so heavy it would be an annoyance to eat with.We’ve been using these for over a year now and they still look nearly new. You do need to be careful with the knives, I have noticed some small rust spots on them after putting them through the dishwasher. I’ve decided to just quickly hand wash them after use, but this is not a big deal at all since they don’t seem to actually get used all that often. I got this set and another set of 12 that included 12 steak knives and 3 more serving pieces (no sugar spoon or butter knife in that set) in order to have plenty of extra should I ever lose any over the years. I’ve had guests comment on how well the steak knives cut compared to other flatware sets.I honestly love this set so much that when I go to friend’s houses and eat I find myself noticing that I much prefer my flatware at home to theirs (have I become a flatware snob?!). 5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Elegance This is a beautiful set of flatware by Oneida at a very competitive price. I got ours for even less during Prime Days but would still feel this elegant, solid service for 12 to be worth the regular retail price. The pieces feel great in hand with just the perfect amount of weight and balance to them. They have a beautiful smooth finish that shines like a mirror, and the gentle upward swoop of the handles is so elegant (see photo). They have style without being too fussy for every day dishes and use.I’ve read a few comments by those who say the dinner spoons are too large or the teaspoons too small, and I couldn’t agree less. The teaspoons are comparable to any I’ve owned in almost 50 years of running a household and multiple sets of flatware, and the dinner spoons are actually slightly smaller than those in our most recent set from PB that these are replacing. This is a quality set and the size of the pieces reflects that. The serving pieces are stunning as well. Anyone would think you paid much more for this set. 5.0 out of 5 stars For quality, quantity and price you cant go wrong with this set! Love this flatware set! Nice weight, classy style that’s great for everyday or special occasions. Doesn’t scratch easily or show fingerprints. My elderly dad even noticed our new silverware and liked it! The soup spoons could be a tad bigger and the times on the forks are close together making the head somewhat narrow but you quickly get used to it. Serving pieces are sized perfectly. 5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic set! Fantastic silverware set! Contoured handles with mirror finish are strikingly attractive. Forks “stab” and “scoop” very effectively. Spoons are the right size for me, a large male, and have wells of appropriate depth. The dinner knife cuts and slices cleanly and with ease. Handles are weighty and balanced. I supplemented the set with Moda soup spoons, steak knives and iced tea spoons; all of which are great. I use pieces from the set all the time. 18/10 stainless is the finest grade available and I expect it to resist rust and shine for a long time. Probably the best set I have ever owned. 5.0 out of 5 stars Nice heft, elegant This is a quality set and quite heavy compared with my other Oneida pattern and even a nice Reed and Barton, and is even heavier than my silver plate. The Reed and Barton I have is the scalloped design that sells at $80 for one place setting and is now on special for $50. That set is not as heavy as this one. This Oneida Moda is elegant in its simplicity, and I am thrilled to get service for 12 plus 5 serving pieces for only $165. The salad forks are the same size as my other Oneida dinner forks, but the dinner forks are not those huge oversized ones. Also, the salad forks are the same design as the dinner forks, just a little bit shorter and narrower and the same length as my other Oneida dinner forks, so I feel that I actually have 24 dinner forks. Very solid and well made tableware, nice mirror finish, a shape that’s easy to hold comfortably, and enough quantity for a good size dinner party. One star subtracted because the knives are a bit too long and while comfortable to grip, feel a bit unbalanced. Additionally, they don’t fit in their normal spot in the silverware tray, so they now are in the longer side slot. It’s definitely a step up from our old set, which we’ve had so lone I can’t remember when we purchased it. Heavier that what we’ve had in the past. We haven’t actually used it yet so I can’t speak to durability, but we both like the heavier feel. The other big plus is that this set was significantly less expensive on Amazon than at any other seller. Macy’s actually had it priced at $329 and BB&B at $279.99.
