I say this as when I opened the box and went to attach the provided handles, the side rail was detached from the main board on one side about a third of the length. It’s like the glue wasn’t applied to the whole side rail. This allowed for a slightly warp to the main board, even after securing the handles. Instead of sending it back, I was able to solve the issue by applying a screw to the underside of the main board to the side rail. I was also able to cover the new screw with the provided skid pads. Otherwise this is a great fit and seems nice and strong and able to easily be use for what it is. Looks wonderful and functions great. It is not that bad of shape, but I still wanted the extra space and didn’t want to worry about the stove top. Now I’m going to be very careful with this board! It’s absolutely beautiful.The only issue I have is that in transit, the box got damaged and there’s a small dent on one side of the board. I can position it so it is not noticeable to anyone else, but I will know it is there.There was no smell or odor out of the box. Attaching the handles was simple and quick. And even if I had an appliance or countertop on both sides of my stove, it would still fit. It even is set up so that none of the board touches my burners.It did not send car instructions, so I will contact the manufacturer before I oil it. I had to learn how to wax the glass top, it is so fragile…if it were exposed 24/7 it wouldn’t make it! Still looks brand new 3 years later thanks to the noodle board. Plus, you can drop grocery bags on it, pots before they get put away…cats walking on it when you aren’t around. A real life saver. So I say do it! I just bought a second one to replace the original noodle board. Mainly because I wanted a fresh looking one and the old one I can use to bring pizza boxes into the TV room! It was so hot I almost burnt myself not knowing the burner was on, but it didn’t burn at all. It was definitely safe and will not easily catch fire. It did warp the board but did not catch fire!
