This one has a reverse switch that with a simple press (do not hold it down) quickly releases the car from the cutter without releasing it from the clamp holding the can in place

This thing works well with everything from small tuna cans to those large bulk cans that don’t even fit into other can openers. The best feature of the product is the side cutter which opens the can lid from the side rather than from the top. This not only eliminates the sharp lid edge that is the bane of conventional can openers but also allows the lid to be put back on the can quite nicely for temporary storage in the refrigerator if you only want some of the contents now, saving the rest for later. I’d highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality electric can opener.
