The beige upholstery fabric is 100% microfiber, so any spills or stains should clean well. The legs are 1.25 inches in diameter and made of rubberwood, which is good for indoor chair legs (although not as strong as oak or maple). And although the chairs can hold up to 300 lbs, they are on the small side if you plan to use them as dining room chairs. But that is fine with me because they are extra dining chairs for large gatherings. I like the design, which includes “stripes” in the upholstered chair back that wrap around the seat for about six inches. The seats are wider than I expected, with enough cushioning that they don’t feel hard after sitting for a while. The curved back is also comfortable when I actually lean into it.I especially like the striped detailing in the upholstered back, which continues around the sides of the seat for several inches. It gives the chairs a little more character than a basic upholstered dining chair without making them difficult to match with other furniture.Assembly was refreshingly uneventful. The holes were already drilled, the hardware was easy to identify, and the necessary tool was included. Once tightened, the solid wood legs felt stable without any noticeable wobble, and the pads underneath keep them from scraping the floor.The upholstery also makes sense around a dining table. It feels soft rather than coarse, but small messes can be wiped from the polyester fabric instead of immediately becoming a cleaning project. But the light linen is a stable and beautiful material; it’s soft and lovely in person. The smooth wood frame and legs are durable and solid with a beautiful semi gloss walnut stain. The pair turned out perfect for our 4’ x 4’ table. The style is a minimalist dream with a formal high end finish. The seat is firm but extremely comfortable. The curved back keeps up ergonomically and at a comfortable height. Assembly was straightforward, just a few steps.
