5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, You're Actually Gonna Use This. A LOT. “Oh, I don’t need a food processor. I love to chop things by hand! And really, my cheap, tiny blender does just about any job a food processor could do. It’s not worth the money!” This has been my mantra for years.Oh, what a fool I was. What a fool!A food processor is such a magical device. You can do things with it that are impossible to do without it!Have you heard of cashew cream sauce? It’s fabulous. You soak about two cups of cashews in water for 2 hours, drain and rinse them well, and then toss them in your food processor with a clove or two of peeled garlic, about 2/3 cup of water, and about a teaspoon or so of salt, to taste. Press the power on, and in seconds, you have smooth-bodied, flavourful dip that is extremely versatile. From there, it’s all up to your imagination! Add some nutritional yeast to make it taste nice and cheesy, with just a pinch of paprika to bring out those cheesy notes, and serve it with tortilla chips. Or how about a bit of curry powder and some basil to serve with pita chips as a sweet, curry-style dip? Or perhaps you’ll use some herbs and pour it over pasta, for a new twist on “lazy pasta night”?Maybe you’re no fan of that idea. Well then, how about making pesto right in your own home? Those tiny bottles in the grocery are never as good as the stuff as you can get in a nice restaurant, and they can be damned pricey for such mediocre flavour. Make it yourself, and be amazed!Or what about hummus? You can use a method by Kenji Lopez-Alt over at SeriousEats to make tahini sauce with garlic and lemon that makes for a FANTASTIC base for the best hummus of your life (made with, I suggest, the best on the market, and available also here on Amazon: Soom Foods Pure Ground Sesame Tahini 11oz (2 Pack))! Sabra has got NOTHING on homemade hummus. There’s also the sheer joy of buying nuts in bulk, knowing that you’re saving quite a bit of money tossing them into your food processor to get chopped rather than buying them pre-chopped. Or you can quickly chop toppings for a salad. There’s a lot of chopping this thing can handle that you might not care to handle yourself!Or, how about this: the best homemade ice cream you’ve ever had? It’s simple; make your custard-style base (I recommend Jeni Britton Bauer’s method, Google it or pick up her book here: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at Home), freeze it overnight in a big gallon freezer bag laid out flat, and the next day, break it into pieces to throw into your food processor. Then you can whip it to a gorgeous creamy state, add in some flavourings, pour into an ice cream container, and freeze; voila! The best homemade ice cream you’ve EVER had – guaranteed better than storebought, that’s for sure, and a lot healthier, since you’re in total control of what goes in it. :)And I’m sure before I even began to write this review, you had your own ideas. Nut butters? Certainly! How about dough? It can do it! Grating cheese? Well, I prefer an old-fashioned box grater, but if you’re tired of washing that ol’ beast, absolutely, go for one of these! There’s just so many wonderful things you can do with this gorgeous machine; and it’s outrageously simple to handle. I’ve seen a great many food processors in family homes; they’re awkward, they’re cumbersome, and they’re very noisy. This isn’t whisper-silent, but I can safely use it all hours of the night without losing a finger or waking my sleeping household. Now, I must confess I’ve had precisely one point of frustration with it since I bought it: I opened it up, threw in an ingredient, put the top back on, hit the “ON” button, and.. nothing. I was dumbfounded. Why isn’t this brand new machine working?Turns out, it was a safety feature! I hadn’t secured the top, so it didn’t come on. And thank goodness! I would’ve had a big mess on my hands. Knowing that it will simply not turn on if I don’t have the top fastened on correctly is a comfort to me; I can get to work and not worry about double-checking that I’ve put everything back in place just so, and I can trust little ones to put things into it without worrying that they’ll get over-excited to turn it on and send ingredients flying around my kitchen! And it’s so simple to put together and take apart once you take a few minutes to handle it first-hand.This is a wonderful machine to aid the home cook, and I believe if you’ve made it this far in my review, you know I’m right. You deserve this. It’ll take a special position in your kitchen, just like a KitchenAid; in fact, a KitchenAid and this food processor have a constant presence on my countertop. If you love to cook, and you love to explore new techniques and recipes, then I beg of you; do yourself a big favour and get this today!Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: Stainless Steel
5.0 out of 5 stars Efficient & Enjoyable Food Processor Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: Stainless Steel
5.0 out of 5 stars For first time buyers like me, this one meet all my needs perfectly I spent about 6 hours researching a good processor. This is my first ever, and I never thought I needed one. I have used this about every other day for the past two weeks that I’ve had it. It’s the one appliance besides my coffee machines that I have on my precious kitchen counter real estate! One reason I even decided a good processor was worth looking into was to save me some wear and tear on my hands/wrists from all the chopping I do (stay at home mom here, and I do lots of cooking from scratch). As a first time food processor owner (with a high quality blender), I am glad I purchased a) a Cuisinart b) a 14 cup one (I have a husband and a 2 and 4 year old, so our meals Aren’t huge). I’m working more to batch cook and prep ahead of time, so this guy is my partner-in-crime.The things I most commonly have been making from this processor is hummus, sliced veggies, grated carrots (found a delicious shredded carrot salad with raisins and mayo/yogurt and pineapple) and shredded cheese. I plan on making some borscht, coleslaw, kale salad and dressing, and experimenting more with chopping herbs.Oh how I love shredding a big block of cheddar in 20 seconds flat (no sore hand afterwards)! Follow the manual’s instructions and freeze the cheddar to make it easier in your machine. Also, mozzarella is not recommended to shred on it for those pizza-making lovers). I made some chicken soup the other night and loved the time I saved with slicing the carrots and celery. I already feel the time I’m saving and the efficiency of this machine.Glad I sized up too, because that large block of cheese fills up the entire container! Also, coleslaw would easily do that with a half head of cabbage. For those curious, homemade hummus is a game changer. I’m not interested in eating hummus from the store, but always can’t get enough from Greek/middle eastern restaurants. Yeah, there is a difference (side note: you also have to put it the time to shell your chickpeas; which can be made easier with a little baking soda). For those who wonder about the aesthetics of this, it looks great on my counter BUT, the plastic isn’t dark like shown on These Amazon photos. I would say it’s just a hint darker than the clear plastic shown on the white models (I personally like the actual look better, and it’s just dark enough to probably make a beet stain stand out a bit less). This long review is giving you my experience so far with this beast machine, and I’m glad I went for it! I was nervous about the 14 cup models since going down the rabbit hole of Amazon reviews left me focusing on the negative ones, which doesn’t always give you a clear perspective on things. Many folks misuse these or doesn’t bother reading the manual. But this investment piece is something I plan on having around until my boys are grown up, so I’m hopefully saving myself a little bit of future tendinitis this way 😉 in that respect, I am easy on the machine, hand wash it, and insert/snap on the pieces with care and love. For all you first time food processor owners-to-be, I say go for it! Go for the 14 cup! If anything disastrous happens, I’ll have it added to this review.Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: Black
5.0 out of 5 stars One Year Review: Very High Build Quality, Durable, Excels in Most Food Processing Tasks Update after a year of use:I am still very happy with this food processor, especially its durability and reliability of operation. It excels in most (but not all) food processing tasks.Hummus/similar dips: 10/10, no problem running the machine for 5-10 minutesKneading: 10/10, same as aboveEmulsions: Mayonaise and toum come out great. The orifice in the plunger does a good job of drizzling. Its also easy to remove the plunger and drop things like ice into the smaller chute, which it tall enough to prevent splashing.Slicing/shredding: 8/10, good for a food processor. if you need finer/more precise results you’ll need a mandoline or a sharp knife and timeThe only real weakness of this machine ismilling/mastication: 6/10, The machine is unable to masticate herbs, nuts, and cheese well, e.g. pesto. I think there is too much space between the bottom and sides of the blades and the container for these tasks. The only processors I’ve used that excel in this area are smaller processors that don’t justify the kitchen space. My workaround has been to mill, grate, or masticate these items before placing them in the machine. To be clear, you’ll get a usable final product, but manage your expectations.First impressions of the machine are quite positive and I’ll focus mostly on the build quality.Build:Well into the realm of “I didn’t think they built stuff like this anymore.” Very high quality injection molding throughout. The motor is well balanced: very quiet in operation compared to other food processors i’ve used and very little vibration noted. You can see forging and work hardening lines in the stainless steel attachments. No signs of warping in the lexan. Very good loose interference fit at the feed tube plungers. Overall the industrial design and workmanship of this unit is on par with Zojirushi appliances or Kitchen-Aid mixers.Ergonomics:I like simple food processors. This one is simple in operation. On and off/pulse with high leverage switches. Perfect. The locking mechanisms work well so far without needless faffing. I wish the smaller feed tube was a little larger. The larger feed tube disengages the motor so operations like adding tahini or other messier items slowly have a higher chance of spillage or require a spouted container. I’m suspicious about how easy it will be to trap gunk around the locking mechanisms. I’m also suspicious that there isn’t any sort of loading mechanism to keep the chopping blade in place.Ease of cleaning: The manual recommends washing all pieces in the dishwasher. I don’t have a newer dishwasher with neat little compartments to keep blades from being knocked around so the chopping blade will get hand washed. I’ll update the review to assess how the lexan holds up from several months of dishwashing. I’m not a fan of the stainless steel fascia the machine has since I’d rather have white plastic appliances for their ease of cleaning and smaller visual weight.Power and results: The first thing I made in this machine was a large batch of hummus. Outstanding power and very quiet. The results were extremely smooth. I think I’ll be able to knead dough or make a fine pesto just fine. I’ll update on milling uniformity, grating, and slicing when I try those.Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: White/Gold
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Food Processor - Easy To Assemble and Use Reviews are so sketchy these days so it’s no wonder trying to find a quality product is anxiety inducing. People do not take the time to look something over before trying to assemble it. The user manual and instruction booklet are in the description in PDF format and are printable. I might add they are also quite detailed. This was a common complaint in the reviews, “no instructions”. It’s been a number of years since there were user manuals included with a product. We had a Cuisinart food processor in 2019 but was enticed away by the bells and whistles of the Ninja all in one and gave it away in favor of the Ninja. Big mistake, less than 8 months later our food processor bowl fell apart, after they sent us 4 replacement bowls that didn’t fit they replaced the entire system with the same one they said no longer existed, it was a 2 1/2 month nightmare. Five years later the replacement Ninja was no longer usable the blender jug and food processor bowl was cracked and leaked. We take care of our things and hand washed the bowl and all parts so the Ninja was not something we were about to re-purchase.We just got this food processor this morning, it is an upgrade from the one we bought in 2019. The bowl is large and will help us in our large batch cooking. Simple and straightforward, quiet and efficient. Contrary to the negative reviews about the bowl being difficult to seat and the lid being hard to put on and lock in place we found that it was an extreme exaggeration. If you look at the base of the machine and line the bowl up with the divots in the bowl you will not have an issue putting it on. The blade goes in after the bowl is seated, not in conjunction with it. The same with the lid, there is a specific way to line it up, and it will easily lock into place and unlock just as easily for that matter if you take the time to look it over. There is no need to wrestle with it. My wife made falafel in it this morning and it worked like a champ! Clean up was very easy as well. We cook 90% of our meals from scratch so we actually use our appliances daily. With our medium sized family of 5 we are always chopping, prepping and spend a great deal of time in the kitchen. I feel the quality and power is here and will keep up with our family’s needs. I also feel that this machine will last for years if it is well maintained.Take the time to look at things before you try to assemble them and most definitely before leaving a bad review. When others are looking at making a large purchase like this, hasty reviews are not helpful. With inflation and horrible products on the market that are junk it’s hard enough to make an informed decision without having to sort through negative things that are most often user error not the product itself.Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: Stainless Steel
5.0 out of 5 stars After More Than 33 Years, I’d Buy It Again Without Hesitation I’ve owned the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor for more than 33 years, and it’s still performing as well today as when I first brought it home. That’s one of the highest compliments I can give any kitchen appliance. The first time I used it, I actually struggled getting the lid to lock — I pressed ‘on’ and nothing happened. I’m not usually a read-the-manual type 😂, but I finally checked the directions: you align the lid, push down, turn it left to lock, then turn it back right before pressing on. I did all that… and it still didn’t work. Turns out the real issue was that I hadn’t plugged it into the wall 😂. Once I plugged it into the wall, I’ve never had an issue sinceIf you’re looking for one kitchen appliance that will truly earn its place on your countertop, this is it. As a chef, it’s not just another gadget, it’s an essential tool in my home kitchen. Like my KitchenAid mixer, it has become a permanent fixture because I reach for it almost every time I cook.Over the years, this food processor has dramatically reduced my prep time while delivering consistent, professional-quality results. I regularly use it to slice vegetables, shred cheese, chop onions, knead pizza and bread dough, make flaky pie crusts, prepare fresh pasta dough, purée soups and sauces, blend hummus, pesto, salsa, homemade mayonnaise, emulsify salad dressings, grind toasted nuts, make fresh breadcrumbs, and crush graham crackers or cookies for dessert crusts. It has handled thousands of batches over the years with dependable performance. One of my favorite chef tips is making vibrant basil oil. Many people end up with brown basil oil because heat and oxidation quickly dull its beautiful green color. Simply chill the bowl and blade before processing, then pulse fresh basil with olive oil. For an even brighter result, quickly blanch the basil first. Little techniques like this are where a quality food processor really shines.Another reason I love this machine is its versatility. I often finely chop mushrooms or zucchini and blend them into sauces, soups, meatballs, or meatloaf to add flavor and extra vegetables without changing the texture. If I run out of powdered sugar while baking, I simply process granulated sugar into a fine powder in seconds. During the holidays, it’s indispensable for grinding toasted nuts, preparing fillings, shredding vegetables, and handling larger batches with ease. The powerful 720-watt motor combined with the generous 14-cup capacity makes meal prep faster, easier, and more enjoyable. Whether I’m making flaky pie dough, silky hummus, creamy dressings, or fresh pesto, I know exactly what kind of results I’ll get every time. It consistently produces even textures while saving an incredible amount of time in the kitchen. As a chef, I rely on quality equipment because consistency matters. After more than 33 years of regular use, this is one of the rare home kitchen appliances that continues to deliver professional-level results every time I use it.After more than three decades with mine, I recently purchased this same model as a gift because I know firsthand how dependable it is. That’s probably the strongest recommendation I can give.If mine ever stopped working tomorrow after 33 years of faithful service, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Cuisinart.Five stars without hesitation.Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: Black
5.0 out of 5 stars Great food processor I haven’t made the recipe that I bought this for yet, I have made peanut butter with it, so easy. This appliance is solid, I researched different food processors and the reviews were right, so pleased with this purchase and look forward to making delicious foods and baked goods soon.Variation: Size: 14 cupColor: Stainless Steel
