5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing warmer!!! **UPDATE** its December of 2025 and this still works great!! I use it multiple times a week and it works just as well as when I first bought it! Great for frozen soups/meals. I purchased “Silipint: Silicone 20oz Lidded Bowls: 2 Pack: Deep Pool & Moonstone – Unbreakable, Flexible, Microwave-Oven-Dishwasher” (a little pricy but fully worth it, I bought three sets for meal prep) I fill the bowls with soup, my meal preps or leftovers and then freeze. Once they are frozen I transfer the food to labeled freezer bags. After that it is a “grab and Go” situation, the food slides right into the warmer bowl. I mean it is a perfect fit! I plug the warmer in at my desk and by time I take my lunch my meal is super hot. I upgraded the review to a five star because after so long this thing is still wonderful and the paint issue isn’t that serious. I leave the crock pot in my desk and I put the cord inside of it so the “cord issue” is no longer an issue. The insert is the only thing that travels with me to and from work. When it finally stops working I will not hesitate to buy another.So far this thing does exactly what it supposed to. It does a great job in reheating food. If I have bone in chicken and mashed potatoes, it usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour for the food to get hot hot. So this is my second mini crockpot I had one years ago, and there are things I prefer on the new one and then other things I prefer on the old one. I love that the lid on the new one screws on Now. I don’t have to worry about food spilling out of the bowl. The cord on the new crockpot is detachable now, not an improvement I’m my opinion. I suppose it’s for ease of storage or maybe so it’ll wrap nicer but for the life of me I cannot get the cord to stay wrapped up. It’s like the cord is just a hair too long so the plugs don’t stay in their designated spots. They are forever popping out. That is pretty frustrating. I’m usually carrying a handful of things from my car to office every morning and having to put it all down to pick up the cord that fell off the bottom of my food warmer halfway through a fleet yard is not joy. I think I’m gonna try Velcro. See if I can’t find a way to make it stay. I love the color of mine. I got the green one, but the paint on the small gray rim that the lid screws into it’s already wearing off and I’ve only had this for about a month now. I don’t really wash the base of the mini crockpot but I spot clean it. The paint hasn’t rubbed off from excessive wear and tear or too much of anything like that. It’s just doesn’t stick that well I guess. This item lost a star because of the paint and the cord issue. 5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy it already! This mini Crockpot food warmer comes in clutch! I work at an office with 1 microwave that barely functions. I plug this in about 1.5-2 hrs before lunch and BOOM perfectly warmed meal that is ready to eat right at lunch. Also convenient when I have to drive to another work location during lunch because I can just grab it and go, and eat a warm meal in the car. And it seems more evenly heated than a microwave. I have put all sorts of food, but my go-to is some kind of meat/rice/frozen vegetable and soup. I haven’t tried pasta yet, but it may get a little crusty if not a saucy pasta, but I’m sure it would still taste great. I have overcooked my pre-cooked meat (steak) when I left it on for 3-3.5 hrs. The 1-2 hrs heating time seems to be the sweet spot.As others have mentioned, the top lid that screws on is slightly difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, is not hard to operate. The thread just doesn’t catch very well is the main problem. The cord can be stored wrapped around on the bottom, but I have had difficulty getting it to wrap around so it can still sit flat; so I just carry it in my lunch bag most of the time. Handle is convenient for carrying.I think it fits a sufficient meal. Guesstimate 3/4 cup of rice, 6 oz meat, 1/2 cup mixed vegetables or 2-2.5 cups of soup.If it could have some simple upgrades, an on/off switch or option for battery power and re-do on the lid threading so top lid is easier to use. It’s so easy, I just plug it in 1.5-2 hours before I plan to take my lunch (I could probably do it even earlier), and if it’s not a soup I add in a splash of water to steam up. Everything is evenly heated and I don’t have to deal with any of the cons of microwaving my meal. No cold or lava hot spots, no weird taste, no being depressingly bland once reheated.This thing really shines with soups, chilis, and stews. But don’t let it fool you, it’s amazing with just about anything but breaded stuff. That’s the only category of food I won’t heat in here, because the steam will make it lose the crunch.This only warms food, it does not cook it, though I will be experimenting with making instant ramen in it. I wish the time would be more less to heat, I have to heat my food up a good hour at least before my meal, to be fully hot hot. Sometimes I’ll give myself a full 1 1/2 before lunch to ensure it stays hot.During eating & you have to persistently lift the lid up. But if you don’t care for super hot food, a go 40 minutes it’s warm. Other than that easy to carry , great size and color , texture is nice. If you can track the time frame before lunch break or meal time , you’re fully set. If you want to save money on lunch, this is it.
