There are four settings, cappuccino foam, latte foam, no foam (heat only) and cold foam (no heat). I have only tried the latte and cappuccino foam settings thusfar and I was surprised actually how different they are.It seems the way this machine works is the bottom of the cup has a heater. The whisk bit spins at different speeds for latte/cappuccino (use the lid!) and the speed is how the different foams are developed. Cappuccino has more overall foam and I felt the bubbles were larger and lighter/more volume than latte with the same starting quantity of milk.The canister has three markings inside. I briefly looked but didn’t find a guide for the volumes. They are roughly 4oz for minimum fill, 6oz for max foam, and 12oz for max hot.The inside of the canister is different from the outside. I was expecting the inside to be stainless steel like frothing pitchers but it does have some kind of coating. Assuming the listing is accurate, the SUS304 is not teflon at all and the interior is a high quality food grade stainless steel and a further search shows it is very common for dairy processing and cookware so I am making as assumption it is completely safe.Reasons I deducted a star: 1) the price volatility on this is wild. The ai price tracker doesn’t show I ordered this for under $20 in mid August 2026 and saw it last week for over $70. $36 seems to be the more standard price for this. 2) this heats hotter than advertised. Temps in the pamphlet suggest the max temp should be 65 cells plus or minus five degrees (in Fahrenheit that’s 140/149/158 degrees). I have been turning the machine off before the auto shut off at two minutes because I honestly don’t want my drink that hot and even stopping it ~30 seconds early I temp’d it at nearly 170 degrees. I tried repeating it with water (didn’t need more foam) and after the full two minutes it was barely 140 degrees so the temperature just isn’t consistent or within specified ranges. There is no controllable temperature setting for personal preference adjustments.Tip: you should mix your sweetener into the milk with this frother.
