The previous wine glasses I’ve had always broke in the dishwasher, or from a slight bump. I’ve had these four glasses for four months and none have broken with nearly daily daily use. After reading reviews, I chose to purchase four of these and I’ll be purchasing many more in the future in different sizes. I’ve had these for four months and none had broken. The stems are extremely sturdy they don’t break in the dishwasher. There’s not a single scratch on them. And they have that perfect thin lip. 5.0 out of 5 stars Very Elegant Glasses What drew me to these glasses in the first place was that so many reviews of the “best” wine glasses listed these as their budget pick. They do not look or feel like a budget pick. Maybe Libbey lacks the cachet of Riedel, but then they don’t cost $50+ dollars a glass. These are in fact very, very nice glasses, which I happened to find on sale here for an exceptional price.By nice, I mean that the shape is very elegant, the glass very thin and clear, and the rim lacking in roll (apparently, they are laser cut rather than simply molded, which prevents the rounded bulge that tops most inexpensive wine glasses). The balance is also very good. These are the things you look for in a wine glass. Adding to that, they are dishwasher-safe. What’s not to like?The only flaws, if you can call them that, is that 1) they have a 16 oz capacity, and 2) they are very tall. The first is only a problem because a typical 4 or 6 ounce pour makes the glass look mostly empty. While that may help with focusing the aroma of the wine (and therefore the taste), it also makes you look cheap as a host. Obviously, I’m being a little facetious here, but beware of filling them. One full glass is more then 1/2 of a normal 750 m.l. bottle of wine, so, a word to the wise, keep your pours light and you and your guests (relatively) sober. The height is an issue because it limits where you can put them in a either dishwasher or cabinet. If these are issues for you, you may want to pull out your ruler to make sure the glasses will fit where you want them to. If you don’t care about that (or, like me, are willing to make compromises to have these very nice glasses), you’ll be very happy with these. I am.Variation: Color: Estate All Purpose
